Blackadder is a British historical sitcom television series created by Richard Curtis and Rowan Atkinson, with Ben Elton joining the writing team from Blackadder II onward. The show focuses on several generations of the Blackadder dynasty throughout the history of Great Britain, accompanied by several generations of their bumbling servant, Baldrick.
The show ran for four full series, with two specials made in 1988, and a final short film released on the eve of the new millennium in 1999.
